Hazon is operated by Digital Joi LTD ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
Who we are
Digital Joi LTD operates the Hazon app. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@hazonapp.com.
We are based in the United Kingdom. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) where it applies to our users in the European Economic Area.
What information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the Hazon service:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account
- Profile information — your faith stage, goals, and season of life, which you provide during onboarding to personalise your experience
- Journal entries — your written responses during devotional plans, including mood selections and prayer notes
- Usage data — which plans you start and complete, your streak count, and reminder time preferences
- Profile photo — only if you choose to upload one
- Diagnostic data — crash logs, performance metrics, device model, OS version, and app version, collected via Sentry to diagnose errors and improve stability
- Product analytics — events about how features are used (e.g. which screens you view, when you start or complete a plan), collected via PostHog to understand and improve the product
- Purchase data — your subscription status and purchase history, processed by RevenueCat. Apple and Google handle your payment details directly; we never see your card information
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any data unrelated to the Hazon service.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide and personalise the Hazon devotional experience
- Generate personalised journal questions, encouragements, and prayers based on your responses
- Send daily reminder notifications at the time you choose
- Maintain your streak and progress records
- Diagnose crashes and performance issues
- Understand product usage so we can improve Hazon
- Respond to your support requests
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with anyone except the service providers listed below.
AI features
Hazon uses the Anthropic API to generate personalised journal questions, encouragements, and prayers. Your journal responses and relevant plan context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate these responses. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not store your data with Anthropic beyond what is needed to generate a single response.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Hazon:
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU region)
- Anthropic — AI generation of journal questions, prayers, and encouragements (US-based; data transferred under standard contractual clauses)
- RevenueCat — subscription management and entitlement checks (US-based)
- Sentry — crash and performance diagnostics (EU region)
- PostHog — product analytics (EU Cloud)
- Apple / Google — app distribution, sign-in, and in-app purchases
International data transfers
Hazon is operated from the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and EEA, including Anthropic, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your information.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with servers located in the European Union. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to how we process your data
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data

If you are in the United Kingdom, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you can lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. A list is maintained at edpb.europa.eu.
If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA.
Residents of other regions (e.g. Brazil, Canada, Australia) may have similar rights under local law. Contact us at hello@hazonapp.com to exercise them.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (e.g. payment receipts).
Data deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (You → Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete my account). This permanently removes all your journal entries, profile data, and account information. If you can't access your account, see our account deletion page for an email-based option.
Children
Hazon is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
Governing law
This privacy policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to any rights you have under your local law as a consumer.
